he château's history

In 1690 Jean Martimor built Château Coulom in the village of Gibel.
King Louis XIV had sold him the post of King’s Advisor,
Mayor of the village and the community.
The Château has remained in the Martimor’s family who were
members of the judiciary and landowners farming Pastel,
used as a colorant and symbolic of the Lauragais region.
The family tree includes the Capitoul Jacques Rigaud de Rouvayroulis
and the Marquise de Raymond Lasbordes, great-grandmother of
the present owner, Charles Martimor.
Château Coulom has undergone extensive renovations under
the actual owner transforming it into a comfortable
residence whilst maintaining it’s authenticity as
the property is classed as an historic monument
